Curriculum Overview

The Master in Public Policy (MPP) program at KIIY School of Public Policy is an intensive one-year, full-time interdisciplinary degree designed to develop policy leaders equipped to tackle complex governance challenges. Semester-wise Structure

  • Semester I (20 Credits)

    Establishes strong foundations in policy theory, economic analysis, constitutional frameworks, and research methodology. Students select their first professional elective from high-impact domains including health, technology, geopolitics, or digital governance. Applied Policy Studies I introduces policy design and analysis through practical exercises. Practicum components develop communication skills and physical wellness.

  • Semester II (20 Credits)

    Advances knowledge in public finance, data analysis, sustainability, and rights-based approaches. Students complete their specialization through a second professional elective chosen from expanded options including behavioral economics, financial markets, social movements, labor policy, agriculture, or urban development. Applied Policy Studies II focuses on implementation and evaluation methodologies. The semester culminates in an intensive 4-week internship integrated with capstone project development and presentation.

Specialization Tracks

Students opt for one of four Policy Tracks to develop domain expertise, starting from Semester I

  • Social Policy & Human Development – Focus on education, health, labour, rural development, and inclusion.

  • Sustainable Development & Environmental Policy – Covers ESG, climate change, energy policy, and public finance.

  • Governance, Urban & Regional Policy – Addresses urban planning, local governance, smart cities, and administrative reform.

  • Data & Policy Analytics – Emphasizes AI policy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and impact evaluation.
